I don't often rant on here, but...
"I want Champions League football" was Gareth Barry's reason for wanting to switch to Liverpool last summer.
If we look at the figures, and the club he's joined, it's pretty fair to say that was a load of crap. At a reported £100,000 a week its all about money. City aren't even in Europe next season - and I don't think Mark Hughes is the same caliber of manager as Martin O'Neil.
But £12m for a 28 year old is a pretty good deal as far as Villa are concerned, and lets hope that we spend it wisely.
I'm not sad to seem Barry go, I think he'll see less success at City, and after this season he'll more than likely see a lot more of the bench.
Anyway, thats as much writing as I'll grace the subject with - better do some work now!
